How to make a body scrub

Body scrubs are physical exfoliants that mechanically remove dead skin cells. The “scrub” texture usually comes from a mixture of sugar or salt suspended in an oil base. While some scrubs (especially those in a DIY kit) contain large particles of salt and sugar, the better ones are made with fine, luxurious particles that polish the skin without being abrasive.

There are different types of scrubs on the market, but they are very expensive and may contain harmful chemicals. Therefore, it is possible to make a natural homemade scrub for the skin, with different natural ingredients, and with ease, in particular:

Coffee and sugar scrub :

Ingredients :

  • A quarter cup of coffee.
  • A quarter cup of sugar.
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.
  • 3 capsules of vitamin E.

how to prepare:

  • Mix all the ingredients to obtain a coarse paste.
  • The paste is placed on the skin after cleansing.
  • Gently massage with fingers, in circular motions, for 5-10 minutes, spending 1-2 minutes on each part of the body.
  • Wash the body with a moisturizing scrub and lukewarm water.
  • This scrub can be repeated 2 to 3 times a week.

Coconut oil scrub :

Ingredients :

  • A quarter to a half cup of granulated sugar.
  • Half a cup of coconut oil.

How to prepare :

  • Mix the ingredients to obtain a coarse paste.
  • The mixture is applied to the skin after cleansing.
  • Gently massage the skin with the fingers, in circular movements, for a duration of 5 to 10 minutes, spending 1 to 2 minutes on each part of the body.
  • Wash the skin with a moisturizing scrub and lukewarm water.
  • This scrub can be repeated 2 to 3 times a week.

Olive oil and peppermint oil:

Ingredients :

  • A quarter cup of olive oil.
  • A cup of brown sugar.
  • 15 drops of peppermint essential oil.

The way to prepare:

  • Mix all the ingredients to obtain a coarse paste.
  • Cleanse the skin and apply the mixture on it.
  • Gently massage into skin with fingertips, using circular motions.
  • Exfoliate the skin for 5-10 minutes, spending 1-2 minutes on each part of the body, massaging it.
  • Wash the skin with a moisturizing scrub and lukewarm water.
  • This scrub can be repeated 2 to 3 times a week.

Oatmeal Scrub :

Ingredients :

  • Half a cup of uncooked rolled oats.
  • Half a cup of brown sugar.
  • Half a cup of natural honey.
  • A quarter cup of jojoba oil.
  • Two drops of lavender essential oil.
  • 4 drops of geranium oil.
  • 4 drops of frankincense oil.

How to prepare:

  • grind the dry ingredients; To obtain a fine powder.
  • Add the mixture of liquid ingredients to the powder.
  • Combine remaining ingredients; To obtain a coarse paste.
  • Clean the skin and put the paste on it.

  • Wash the skin with a moisturizing scrub and lukewarm water.
  • Repeat this scrub twice a week.

Banana peeler and sugar:

Ingredients :

  • Ripe banana pod.
  • A few drops of an essential oil, such as vanilla extract.
  • 2-3 tablespoons of sugar.

How to prepare :
